Meet The Doctor

Dr. Ghazi

Amir Ghazi DC, DACNB
Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist

I must admit, I hardly remember my first chiropractic experience at the age of two.  I do remember, as a child, being excited to go to the chiropractor. No matter what the ailment, whether a miscalculated stunt from a tree in the yard or bouts of asthma, I always felt better after a visit to my chiropractor.

I was shocked to learn my ailing college roommate had not only never been to a chiropractor, but had never heard of a chiropractor. ‘How could this be?’ I thought. I assumed everyone went to the chiropractor when not feeling their best.

My interest in health led to a BS in Kinesiology at Texas A&M, and upon graduation I worked as a personal trainer. It was not long after, I realized that I wanted to do more to assist people to get healthy and stay healthy.

While studying for my doctorate at Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas, I was introduced to the specialty of chiropractic neurology. Being scientific minded, I was naturally attracted to the objective methods of chiropractic neurology. What impressed me was how much faster patients improved, especially those with complicated conditions. With this new found passion, I completed an additional four years post doctoral education to become a Certified Clinical Chiropractic Neurologist (C.C.C.N.) and a board certified Diplomate of American Chiropractic Neurology (DACNB).

After graduating, I practiced in rural Queensland, Australia for a year. The Aussies are very health conscious and largely prefer natural treatment options.  It was a great experience to witness patients respond to natural health care. I believe there is a time and place for both chiropractic and conventional medicine and routinely work with patients’ general practitioner to provide the most comprehensive care. However, clinically I have observed that patients who maintain their health naturally are more likely to avoid riskier treatments, such as drugs and surgery.

In 2005, I returned home to Texas where I practiced in Georgetown until opening Austin Chiropractic Neurology in 2009. It is my passion to continue helping my patients and community to achieve and maintain the health they want and deserve.

What is the key to optimal health? Understanding health is not only a destination but a journey! I believe the most effective way to influence others is to lead by example, so I only make recommendations that I would follow or would have my family follow. I personally strive daily to maintain the standards of optimal health I set for my patients – appropriate physical activity, nutritious food, quality vitamin/minerals and a balanced mental/emotional routine. I enjoy staying healthy and active by practicing martial arts, running with my dog Rook at the park, wakeboarding, rock climbing, weight training at the gym, cooking healthy meals and spending quality time with loved ones.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I would like to welcome you to take the first step on your journey to optimal health by offering you a complimentary consultation to hear your health concerns and goals. Call or email today for an appointment.
